MAKING MUSIC VIDEOS IS SPECIAL.

Music videos offer a unique opportunity to bring a song to life with bold visuals and compelling story-telling. When done right, the audience will form additional attachments to the music through the video.

Is a music video worth it in 2026? For a long time it was understood that every proper music release should come with a music video. The reality is that making a music video is not a marketing plan and it never has been. If you want your music video to reach people then you need to have a plan to market not just the music but the music video as well.

*The exception here is if you are wanting to make a music video for personal catharsis - in which case, let's go off friend

A music video is an investment and while I certainly do recommend making one if you can, it isn't the only way to market your music.

I've been lucky. I've worked with a ton of incredible musicians and bands and I have truly enjoyed the experience of every music video I've made. Creating a visual cinemascape that aligns with a song and an artist is a special type of collaboration. It requires both artists to come through in the work.

SOCIAL MEDIA

You need a lot of content. We're here to help.

THE PLAN

  • What types of content will work best to support your release?

  • Who is your audience?

  • What platforms are you most active on?

Tik toks, Reels, BTS, Interviews, Teasers, Clips, Trends.

THE ROLLOUT

  • A customized schedule that starts 15 to 30 days before your music video comes out and finishes 15 to 30 days after the release.

It's called hype. We like hype.

THE CENTERPIECE

  • You've got a great music video, why not make the most of it?

What's better than a great music video?  A great music video with an audience.

CUSTOMIZED

  • We'll work with you and your team to make a plan that is individualized.

  • Have someone managing your social media? Just let us know what assets you need.

  • On your own? We can develop the whole schedule.

CASE STUDY #1 • ELLA FORREST

ALBUM ART & SOCIAL MEDIA VISUALIZERS

Finding the right format for the release plan and budget helped to create an exciting release window for Ella Forrest's Retrograde EP.

Ella's EP release, Retrograde, provides a great example of maximizing the visual output of our collaboration. The release strategy of the EP was to release each song separately as a single before finally dropping the whole EP as one.

Ella's must haves were pretty simple - we need covers for each of the single releases as well as album art for the EP. Ideally each cover would be connected but separate enough from each other that they don't look like they are all from the same shoot. Recognizing that 7 separate shoots could become a heavy lift, we decided that it would be ideal if each of the shoots were relatively straightforward relying on lighting choices, costumes and simple props to make each shoot stand on it's own.

In addition to the must-haves we agreed that it would be ideal to have a selection of additional photos and simple moving image to support each release on social media. Rather than creating start to finish visualizers or videos for each song, we opted to create a selection of reels in each backdrop.

The end result is a collection of simple but bold visuals that helped keep intrigue and moment in Ella's corner as they executed their single by single release strategy, culminating in the big EP release.

VISUALIZERS

By using simple visualizers we created opportunities to find new listeners on video first platforms.

With Haunt Era's Psychic Honey the request was to create a simple visualizer to support each song on the album thus creating additional listening opportunities for youtube and other video first platforms.

Since we were dealing with many sets of production and post-production it was important to have several creative conversations around what imagery we were creating for each song. It was important that there was variety but that the album would still feel coherent. (This is easier to achieve when working with one filmmaker for all of the visualizers).

The challenge of Music Visualizers for a filmmaker accustomed to making intricate narrative music videos is in keeping the productions simple. Certainly some of these concepts blur the line between music video and visualizer but in the end the challenge to simplify and still create something meaningful was an incredible experience.

The final collection of visualizers add an extra layer of creativity to this album, allowing the music to take on another life in a visual medium.

DOC/BTS/BRANDING

Often the most overlooked thing in a release window is the opportunity to connect the audience to the musician. Your fans are invested in who you are and what you are trying to do.

Sure, it would be incredible if the music could do all of the talking, but at the end of the day, seeing you on camera is an invaluable way to form bonds with your fans.

Remote Work

While I am based in Regina, Sask I am happy to work on projects remotely. Being based in a small market allows me to offer high production value at affordable prices. It obviously works best for videos where the artist doesn't intend to feature but I am willing to work out those details as well.

I am equally excited to work on projects that involve travel - some part of my heart belongs to the road and there's nothing like creating while traveling.
