Josie and Stanley set out on a mysterious journey after Josie's sister Andrea goes missing from a night out at a small-town bar. Clues lead them to more questions than answers as they discover wandering artists, small-town cults and an eerie family curse that leads them out into The Wild.

The Wild is a product of prairie imagination. It comes from driving down dark roads at night or visiting bars in rural spots where everyone knows everyone except you. It is a film about living with rumors and lore about your family that everyone seems to know about. It's a film about feeling like the world is just out of reach when there is always something holding you back.

Shot on Treaty 4 Territory in 2020 while COVID numbers were low in Saskatchewan, The Wild was created by a small community of independent filmmakers passionate about making something unique. Despite stemming from a small market, the film proudly includes indigenous people, women, queer folk & a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences in the cast and crew including key positions.
