Josie and Stanley set out on a mysterious journey after Josie's sister Andrea goes missing from a night out at a small-town bar. Clues lead them to more questions than answers as they discover wandering artists, small-town cults and an eerie family curse that leads them out into The Wild.

The Wild is a product of prairie imagination. It comes from driving down dark roads at night or visiting bars in rural spots where everyone knows everyone except you. It is a film about living with rumors and lore about your family that everyone seems to know about. It's a film about feeling like the world is just out of reach when there is always something holding you back.
Shot on Treaty 4 Territory in 2020 while COVID numbers were low in Saskatchewan, The Wild was created by a small community of independent filmmakers passionate about making something unique. Despite stemming from a small market, the film proudly includes indigenous people, women, queer folk & a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences in the cast and crew including key positions.
A SASK FILM FOR A SASK AUDIENCE
Our entire cast & crew are from Saskatchewan - most of us have ties to small towns and it's important to us that this film reaches people in Saskatchewan.
That's why our first priority is to release this film to screens in Saskatchewan. The goal of this film has always been to do a lot with a little - something we think is a Saskatchewan mindset. We are aiming to do something unique - an indie micro-theatre run that builds into something bigger and bigger.
Through a combination of social media and grassroots campaigning, we aim to get this film seen by as many Sask folks as possible. Whether from posters at the post office, local press or hearing about it on social media; this October we want to put THE WILD in front of Saskatchewan's face.
It is important to us to engage with audiences - our director, cast member and key crew will make every effort to be available for Q&A sessions at screenings. We will also be engaging with local press to promote The Wild and our local film community at large.

THE WILD starts its festival run off with a premiere in Italy at the CineOFF Festival in 2023. It has also received multiple awards at BLASTOFF including Best Feature.
